Polo is a fast, furious and also very graceful game. As a child I was brought up with pictures and stories of my grandfather playing in the 1930s, and since then other members of my family have also played. The skill and speed of pony and rider working together is wonderful to see, and I hope that is what I have captured in this bronze.

Polo is perhaps one of the oldest team sports, tracing its origins to Persia in the 6th century BC. It was introduced to Britain in 1834 by the 10th Hussars in Aldershot.
